Warpaint’s new video is dream-pop at its best.
Transforming from black and white claustrophobia to full-colour underwater free-flowing scenes, LA quartet Warpaint take us on a dream-like trip in their video for the track ‘Warpaint’. This eponymous single hints at a nineties grunge influence in its undulating rhythms, but the song’s over-riding hypnotic sensibility is persuasively modern, drawing parallels with Glasser and Best Coast. ‘Warpaint’ is the most recent single from 2010’s The Fool release on Rough Trade.
The London riots last week resulted in the razing of the PIAS warehouse which destroyed the stock of many independents including Rough Trade. A list of affected labels can be found here; you can help by buying digital versions of records from the affected labels.
