Blood Red Shoes

Pretty darn special grunge-pop duo Blood Red Shoes are returning in March with a new single, album and tour.

The follow-up to 2010′s storming Fire Like This, third LP In Time To Voices will be released on V2/Co-Operative Music on March 26, with first single ‘Cold’ preceding it on March 19.

The new album will see them move away from their punk roots and incorporate more classic songwriting, although the songs contained therein will still have the band’s inimitable sound stamped upon them.

Guitarist/vocalist Laura-May Carter explains: “We decided we wanted to make a really ambitious record, not something which reflects our live show but something which is only limited by our imaginations and not by how many instruments we use onstage.

“We figured the best way to push ourselves forward was to write the best possible songs and melodies we could – once you have that as your foundation, you have the freedom to go anywhere with the sounds you use. We feel like a totally different band now. We feel like we’re shooting for the stars.”

Carter and drummer/vocalist Steven Ansell will also be showcasing their new songs during a frankly exhaustive UK tour in April and May – dates are below:

April 27 – Brighton Concorde 2
April 28 – Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms
April 29 – Oxford Academy 2
May 1 – Bristol Trinity
May 2 – Norwich Waterfront
May 3 – London Heaven
May 4 – Birmingham HMV Library
May 5 – Manchester Academy 2
May 7 – Liverpool Zanzibar UK
May 8 – Newcastle Cluny
May 9 – Aberdeen Tunnels
May 10 – Glasgow King Tuts
May 12 – Leeds Cockpit
May 13 – Nottingham Rescue Rooms
