Electro-folk hopeful Becky Jones, aka Saint Saviour, has announced release details for her debut solo album.
Union, released on Surface Area on June 25, sees the former Groove Armada collaborator unveil her own bewitching melange of pastoral loveliness and cutting-edge production tricks, bringing to mind at times Seventh Tree-era Goldfrapp.
Her lyrical preoccupations are no less inventive, with album track ‘Reasons’ seeing Jones imagine herself as a Victorian prostitute attempting to rescue her child; this woman doesn’t do the whole hearts and flowers thing if she can help it…
