Fake Club, ‘Do What You Gotta Do’

There are so many bands with the word ‘club’ in their name these days, that they may start to blur into each other but, judging by the single ‘Do What You Gotta Do’ by all female five piece Fake Club, you would be missing out by not checking this one. They self describe themselves as like ‘Spice Girls with instruments’ but this song shows potential for this band to be something ten times better than that.

‘Do What You Gotta Do’ is a grungy, blues tinged, rock stomper of a track with an incredibly catchy chorus. Possibly more like if Thelma and Louise formed a band than a musically talented Spice Girls; the dirty, rough guitar riff is sure to pull you in, if the sassy vocal doesn’t.

There’s no information yet on an album but they have already been included as a ‘Band of the Day’ on the Guardian website and the attitude they take to their music is something so many of us can sympathise with, the five piece are fed up of the ‘fake’ culture we live in of reality television and manufactured bands. The quintet add they “want to inspire the young generation, show them that there is a bigger picture; its OK for girls to cut their nails and play the guitar, and for young boys not to be computer gamed into oblivion.”

‘Do What You Gotta Do’ is now available for download. Tune into the track above and let us know what you think!
