Acclaimed roots-folk troupe Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo have announced details of a brand new album.
Dear River will be released on July 8 via Linn Records, and serves as the follow-up to Barker and her band’s lauded 2011 collection Almanac. Since then, though, they’ve had just a little teensy smidgen of success – oh, alright, quite a bit.
The last year has seen them perform with Frank Turner at the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony, and join him on his headline UK tour, including a show at Wembley Arena. Add this to the exposure they gained through their themes for hit BBC series Wallander and The Shadow Line, and we’re sure that news of Dear River‘s release will be greeted with open arms by more than a few individuals.
As well it should, if new track ‘Ghost Narrative’ is anything to go by…. Have a watch of the band performing the song, which will appear on Dear River, in rehearsals for their Union Chapel show last November:
