Friday July 26 – Kirsty Almeida
Kirsty Almeida reveals her enchanting, uplifting and, at times, devilishly dark world of classic songwriting mixed with murder lullabies, broken blues-folk beauty, New Orleans soul, voodoo-tinged-pop and a healthy dose of Tim Burton-style brooding.
Friday August 2 – Kirsty McGee Trio
One of the finest musicians on the British folk scene, Kirsty McGee combines deeply personal lyrics with Americana, blues, jazz and rockabilly influences.
Friday August 9 – Da Lata ft. Jandira Silva
Brazilian vocalist Jandira Silva is joined by a worldwide family of musicians from Da Lata. Join them as they preview tracks from their latest album, full of Afro-Brazilian flavours with a London sensibility.
Friday August 16 – Compassionate Dictatorship
This sax and guitar-led quartet evolved out of the long-standing collaboration between Tori Freestone and Jez Franks. They are currently promoting their soon-to-be-released third album Entertaining Tyrants.
Friday August 23 – Georgina Jackson Trio
The Georgina Jackson Trio, with special guest Jo Fooks, play jazz classics, swinging standards and bluesy ballads.
Friday August 30 – Cecilia Stalin
Step Like A Giant
Jazz songstress Cecilia Stalin performs a tribute to jazz legend John Coltrane.
We’ll be catching up with all the artists playing at the Summer Sessions in the coming weeks – so keep an eye out for interviews, features and reviews coming very soon.
