Infamous Manchester festival heavy-weight Parklife returns with Jessie Ware, Annie Mac and Grace Jones all confirmed to perform at the weekend.
The festival, a namesake of Blur’s hit single, returns on 6 – 7 June for its 5th year running. Sprawling across Heaton Park (the biggest municipal park in Europe), Parklife will serve up acts from indie to electro, including electronic pop band Metronomy, consistent chart-topper Jess Glynne, MTV ‘Brand New’ nominee Becky Hill, Karen Harding (who Vice named ‘Whitney Houston of House music’), as well as Jessie Ware (swoon!), and Grace Jones (double swoon!!).
Alongside these must-see acts, Parklife has DJ sets from the likes of Annie Mac (naturally), Nicola Bear, B-traits, and Hannah Wants, who, if her performances during last year’s UK festival circuit are anything to go by –it is worth tagging along for her alone! The festival, although short, is definitely sweet. With no camping there is an abundance of hotels welcoming revelers in the surrounding areas, where you can escape from the mud and port-a-loos to a hot shower and a feather duvet. So if you’re not into tents but definitely into good music, Parklife is for you.
Working in close partnership with XFM Radio, Parklife is a strong contender for this year’s best weekender, and with the alluring £89.50 full weekend price, you’re short of nothing to lose.
