Dream-punk, Portuguese sisters Pega Monstro anounce UK tour dates ahead of the release of their album, Alfarroba.

Pega Monstro, which means “catch the monster”, features Julia Reis (drums) and Maria Reis (guitar, keyboard), who were born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal. The band have recently signed with London label Upset The Rhythm to release their latest record.

The duo have already shared the first single from the LP, ‘Braco de Farro’. Now they’ve unveiled the excellent, retro-style video for garage-pop classic ‘Branca’, which features just under two minutes of thrashing drums and scuzzy guitar riffs, in true punk style.

We have a sneaky feeling Pega Monstro could become your new favourite band. Watch them here:

Pega Monstro will play a headline show at London’s Victoria in Dalston on August 15, as well as supporting Deerhoof at Tufnell Park Dome. More dates will be added soon, watch this space…

Saturday August 15 – UK, London, VICTORIA
Sunday August 23 – UK, Ramsgate, POP IN OPPOSITION FESTIVAL
Tuesday August 25 – UK, London, TUFNELL PARK DOME (W/DEERHOOF)

Alfarroba is released on July 6 via Upset the Rhythm.
