Lilith Ai returns with ‘Riot’, a 4-track EP and book created with photographer and fashion model Georgia May Jagger.
TGA have been a huge fans of the London-based artist ever since we set our ears upon her music. So it’s fair to say that we are thrilled to bring you the premiere of ‘Catfish’, taken from Lilith’s new ‘Riot’ EP.
The ‘Riot’ project fuses music, art and feminism. It sees Lilith collaborate with old friend Georgia May Jagger to produce an awesome riot zine, combining Lilith’s illustrations, poetry and lyrics alongside Jagger’s photography. It’s a fitting tribute to the Riot Grrrl scene that inspired her and other members of the Fights Like a Girl collective.
You can listen to ‘Catfish’ below, a stripped back, soulful lullaby, of love, loss and betrayal.
Speaking of the project and on working with her friend, Lilith says, “I’ve always liked drawing little comic book strips and wanted to make a kind of “riot grrrl” fanzine to go with the EP as I find the RiotGrrrl movement really inspiring.” explains Lilith.
“I’d started work on it last January when my mate Georgia was moving house, I was helping her unpack and saw these really beautiful photos. Right away I told her I was doing this fanzine and had to include her photos and it just grew naturally from there. We put in some blank page’s so all the riot grrrls n fan boys can doodle and write their own stuff in it and then what was originally going to be a 8 page black and white zine just grew into this 148 page colour book.”
